Jerry Keen joins Troutman Sanders Strategies

ATLANTA GA – (December 9, 2010) - Troutman Sanders Strategies is pleased to announce that former House Majority Leader, Jerry Keen, has joined the firm as Senior Consultant of Strategic Development. Troutman Sanders Strategies is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the international law firm, Troutman Sanders LLP.


In this role, Keen will serve as a strategic advisor and will manage business to business consulting and advise clients on key policy matters. Keen's involvement with the firm will not include any lobbying activities at this time.


Keen has been a leading public policy maker the past eight years in Georgia and brings nearly twenty years of political experience at the national and state level. Before joining Troutman Sanders Strategies, Keen served ten years in the Georgia House of Representatives, representing Georgia's Southeastern coast.


In his second term, Keen was selected Minority Whip and led Republicans to their first majority in 130 years. Keen was unanimously selected by his Caucus in 2004 to serve as House Majority Leader; he served in that capacity until his 2010 departure. 


In addition to his public service, Keen has a litany of professional experience in financial management and consulting. Keen has been recognized by various business organizations for his accomplishments receiving the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award and Georgia Trend Magazine's '100 Most Influential Georgians' on numerous occasions.
